Jeanne's painting

She loves to taste new things. She nourishes herself with daily beings: roses, country flowers, fish heads, faces. In the spring, between showers, the whiteness of the fruit trees leaves a taste of fresh snow. Then come the blondness of the wheat against the blue sky or the fleece of the grasses colored like toasted bread against stormy clouds. She nourishes herself with sounds: studio music or concert under the trees. She swallows the light for her watercolors that are light, windy, rainy gray or threatened by storm.

Jeanne's painting likes also solid nourishings, thick. From these come her oils, so colored, so sculpted in their matter filled with sawdust or sand, encrusted with objects. They are people very much "there" whose portraits look you in the eye, or are caught in bathing, in pastry-making, in their games (they are often children), in music, alone, by twos or in crowds. They are alive. They are alone in their worlds or they come toward us.

I invite you to encounter them.
